Bringing the World Needs Challenge to life.

For the 2022 World Needs Challenge, we've collaborated with seven organizations with a proven track record of addressing critical needs and impacting local and global change. Learn more below.
Care

CARE is a large international humanitarian organization that works in 94 countries around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty, and achieve social justice.

Student efforts through the World Needs Challenge will support two of CARE’s initiatives, both focused on youth peacebuilding and engaging across lines of difference: “Youth Act for the Future” in the Caucasus Region and the “Social Justice Experience” across the U.S. Between both initiatives, 700 youth will be directly engaged in programming and another 3,500 individuals are estimated to be impacted as indirect beneficiaries.

Creative Reaction Lab Logo

Creative Reaction Lab’s mission is to educate, train, and challenge Black and Latinx youth to become leaders designing healthy and racially equitable communities.

Student efforts through the World Needs Challenge will reach at least 5,000 young people through Creative Reaction Lab’s grant distribution to arts organizations. In addition, an estimated sixty young artists and designers will be supported as program participants in the Artwork for Equity Program.

International Rescue Committee

The International Rescue Committee helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their future. IRC teams provide health care, infrastructure, learning, and economic support to people in 40 countries, with special programs designed for women and children.

Student efforts through the World Needs Challenge will support educational experiences and curriculum to reach 800 children in Bangladesh that are Rohingya refugees fleeing Myanmar.

No Kid Hungry Logo

No Kid Hungry is a national campaign run by Share Our Strength, a nonprofit working to solve problems of hunger and poverty in the United States and around the world. In America today, 1 in 7 kids face hunger. Working with local partners across the country, No Kid Hungry is ending childhood hunger by ensuring that kids get the food they need.

Student efforts through the World Needs Challenge will support an estimated 3,750,000 meals for children and their families globally. In addition, 30 to 50 Youth Ambassadors will be supported to serve community organizations increasing their capacity to serve children and families.

The King Center Logo

The Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change is the official living memorial and programmatic nonprofit organization committed to educating the world on the life, legacy and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Student efforts through the World Needs Challenge will support reaching more than 20,000 youth over two years through “Youth Against Racism,” an initiative including two key youth development programs: Students with King and The Leadership Academy.

Nature conservancy

Founded in 1951, The Nature Conservancy is the leading conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people.

Student efforts through the World Needs Challenge will help fund education and training for youth and adults interested in coral and marine conservation. Through centralized “Innovation Hubs,” communities will have opportunities to learn about threats to the reefs and ways to combat them, as well as explore youth-centered advocacy opportunities. These Hubs will also develop, disseminate, and implement novel technologies for reef restoration, including techniques to regenerate diverse corals at exciting scales.

Global Nomads

Founded in 1998, Global Nomads Group (GNG) is an international NGO whose mission is to foster intercultural dialogue and understanding among the world’s youth.

As our long-term partner, GNG helps enrich the learning by connecting students throughout the Challenge using technology and storytelling to create videos, lesson plans, and webcasts during the school year.
