2018: Facing Difference Challenge

CARE is a large international humanitarian organization that works in 94 countries around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty, and achieve social justice.

Student efforts through the World Needs Challenge will support two of CARE’s initiatives, both focused on youth peacebuilding and engaging across lines of difference: “Youth Act for the Future” in the Caucasus Region and the “Social Justice Experience” across the U.S. Between both initiatives, 700 youth will be directly engaged in programming and another 3,500 individuals are estimated to be impacted as indirect beneficiaries.

Founded in 1998, Global Nomads Group (GNG) is an international NGO whose mission is to foster intercultural dialogue and understanding among the world’s youth.

As our long-term partner, GNG helps enrich the learning by connecting students throughout the Challenge using technology and storytelling to create videos, lesson plans, and webcasts during the school year.

Search for Common Ground believes that conflict is inevitable; violence is not. Their mission is to transform the way the world deals with conflict, away from destruction and toward collaboration.

News-O-Matic is the first daily newspaper just for kids. It provides an exciting and engaging nonfiction experience for children, complete with valuable literacy tools for the classroom, creating innovative solutions to help children become tomorrow's responsible citizens.

PBLWorks is a non-profit dedicated to helping teachers prepare students for successful lives by helping teachers, schools, and districts to adopt Project Based Learning (PBL). In an effort to promote and support the use of high quality PBL, PBLWorks focuses efforts on building the capacity of teachers and school leaders.
