Through the Extraordinary Earth Project, students learned and created art about the environment, generating donations to organizations addressing climate change. With every art submission to the Extraordinary Earth Project, students raised $5 for challenge partners Choose Love/Choose Earth, Little Amal, National Wildlife Federation, Eden Reforestation Projects, and the Solgaard Nyx Foundation working to mitigate the effects of environmental issues.

Our annual project is now closed. To wrap up a successful Challenge, Students Rebuild partnered with sustainability artist Benjamin Von Wong to unveil the Extraordinary Earth Project pop-up at Arcadia Earth in Toronto, featuring sculptures made entirely from sustainable materials.
The showcase celebrated the culmination of Students Rebuild’s Extraordinary Earth Project, where students learned and created art about the environment, generating donations to organizations addressing climate change. The pop-up featured mosaic displays of student art, videos, and student-made recreations of Benjamin Von Wong’s giant tap sculpture—including Toronto-based educator Monsieur Steve’s second-grade classroom.

How we inspired change

Students focused on what matters most to them
Students created art out of recycled materials that helps deepen connections with the following environmental themes: repurposing waste, deforestation, clean air and ecosystems.
How the money helped
For each artwork we received, the Bezos Family Foundation made a $5 donation to organizations tackling environmental issues responding to the climate crisis across the world.
